MATT WILSON'S CHRISTMAS TREE-O:

World-renowned drummer Matt Wilson leads the Christmas Tree-O, a swinging, holiday-centric group featuring Jeff Lederer on reeds and Paul Sikivie on bass. This performance is part of their 2022 Yule Dig Tour, which includes stops in Philadelphia, Princeton, Chicago, Des Moines, and New York City.

The Tree-O, a mainstay of the holiday season, always delights when bringing their signature festive flair to audiences around the US and Canada. Now in its twelfth year, it is recognized as one of the most vibrant and fun-loving ensembles in jazz today.

They just recorded a single, Mariah /McCintyre, which combines Mariah Carey‘s All I Want for Christmas Is You w/ avant-garde saxophone legend Kalaparusha Maurice McCintyre’s Kwanza. It will be released on November 25, 2022. In addition, the Christmas Tree-O will be the featured group on the 2022 NPR Jazz Night’s Holiday Show.

Drummer, composer, and swinging band leader Matt Wilson fosters evolving connections on and off the bandstand. An artful mastery of the jazz idiom accompanies his warmth and humanity. Over the years, Wilson has received praise from countless outlets for his craft and relentless spontaneity, including DownBeat, JazzTimes, Modern Drummer, and JazzIz; in 2018, he received recognition from the Jazz Journalists Association as Musician of the Year.

Guests DO NOT need to bring printed tickets or proof of purchase. Tickets are held at the door by the name of the ticket purchaser. Please check in at the Arc Theatre door upon arrival. If you are a guest of a ticket holder, please give their name at the door. Supporter and Reserved level seating will be marked with table tents and seat markers. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime.

The Arc Theatre is located on the lobby level of Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel. Bar service will be open in the theatre before and during the performance. You'll find many food and drink options along with art exhibits to explore at the hotel before and after the performance. Underground fee-based parking is available next to the hotel.
