2023 MJI EDUCATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL

MONDAY, MAY 15, 9 AM - 3 PM
Held at Hilton Milwaukee City Center (509 W Wisconsin Avenue)

The MJI Educational Jazz Festival, held each spring, is open to musicians and listeners of all ages, bringing together a diverse group of people through a shared language of music. Attendees participate in workshops and enjoy performances by top jazz artists. Workshops are interactive, and high school and middle school jazz ensembles perform, receive feedback, and compete for awards. The Jazz Festival generally features about a dozen local musicians and hosts around 150 students from seven or more schools.

SCHOOL REGISTRATION

The High School and Middle School ensemble registration fee is $250 per ensemble. Lunch is provided for students and teachers. Schools are encouraged to bring up to 25 attendees (students and adults) with each ensemble registration. Everyone is invited to bring instruments and participate in the workshops and festival activities, even if they're not performing with an ensemble. If your school has more than 25 who would like to attend, let us know, and we will try to accommodate them.

BUY A DAY PASS!

Whether a musician or a listener, members of the public who would like to participate in the workshops or enjoy the all-day performances can purchase a day pass for $25. Workshops are interactive, so attendees are encouraged to bring instruments.  Day passes are available for $25. Student passes are available for $10 with a valid ID.
